We are very proud to announce our second TRUSD Youth Event in Turkey “Give Me My Space: You(th) Reclaiming Civic Spaces and Revitalising Democracy, Social Participation in Autocratic Structures” taking place 4—8 September in Polonezköy, Istanbul in cooperation with the Friedrich-Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
The TRUSD (Turkish-Russian Dialogue) project was founded by FNF Istanbul and Moscow Offices. The main aim of this initiation is to improve and deepen the dialogue of Turkish-Russian civil society and to bring common experience and knowledge from these countries together. With the Youth Program, IFLRY, therefore, adds to existing efforts of cross-country cooperation and helps to facilitate the efforts of young activists to find a place for their ideas and freedoms in autocratic structures. Besides the discussions and training, the program includes inspiring and informative speakers, socializing games and group work for common projects.
We encourage applications from young professionals who can contribute with their experience and knowledge about social participation and youth movements in autocratic structures. There will be in total 20 participants not only from Turkey and Russia but also from the countries in the region.
The costs in Istanbul will be covered by the Friedrich-Naumann Foundation. Travels costs are not paid for international participants unless there they provide a compelling rationale and additional materials.
