About the Female Leadership Academy – 2024 edition

In collaboration with the Centerpartiets Internationella Stiftelse(CIS), – Youth Global Program, the International Federation of Liberal Youth (IFLRY) is delighted to announce our upcoming IFLRY-CIS Female Leadership Academy – 2024 edition. For our 2024 edition, the location chosen has been Taipei, Taiwan from August 22nd to 25th, 2024. Application is possible through the registration form. 

The Female Leadership Academy empowers young women in politics by providing comprehensive training, mentorship, and support. It aims to enhance their leadership skills and political participation, fostering a more inclusive and diverse political landscape. This programme seeks to break down barriers and create equal opportunities for women in political and public life through leadership workshops and networking events. It celebrates female leaders who inspire progress, encouraging participants to contribute to overcoming inequalities and become future leaders. By promoting diversity and inclusion, the programme helps participants understand women’s crucial role in human progress and their significant societal contributions.

For our IFLRY-CIS FLA 2024 edition, IFLRY team will come to Taiwan, a county that has demonstrated powerful advances in the Asia region. Taiwan has been a model country in East Asia in terms of political representation of women, being one country with a strong gender movement that has promoted women-friendly divorce laws, and parental leave laws, but also reviewed legislation that was contrary to the CEDAW.

The event will be held because of their unique approach to policies/politics, their achievements related to gender parity, but also, personal freedom, indigenous rights, and even being the first country in Asia to legalize same sex marriage; but also because of the stories of activism behind political parties as the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP); all of this while tackling a constant threat as a country.  During the IFLRY-CIS FLA 2024, we intend to meet and work with the gender department of the DPP in Taipei and exchange challenges and opportunities with them.  This 2024 edition is an opportunity  to learn from a country’s experience and share the knowledge with participants from countries that share values and traditions that can relate to this experience.

Information regarding the funding and dates

This workshop is supported by the Centerpartiets Internationella Stiftelse(CIS). 

Accommodation, international travel and meals of the participants are covered by IFLRY and cis. No participation fee is requested. 

Participants are expected to arrive on August 22, 2024 before 13:00, and leave on August 25, 2024 after 14:00.
